Hi Dan -- Not long enough. These come to the middle of the thigh -- those are dime-a-dozen. I'm lookin' for middle of the calf.

This will also probably have to be a filled coat -- that is, stuffed with something -- to be warm enough. A friend of mine used to have a down-filled jacket that went clear down to his ankles. That (with synthetic fill instead of down) is what I would like to find.

<a href="http://www.western2.com/mall/clothing__winter_coats.html">http://www.western2.com/...</a>

Almost half way down the page:High Country Long Rider 3002

It's a Rider! And it almost looks like it comes from the 1940's so it would suit your style. Well just shoot me in the foot. This thing even comes with a storm collar... whatever that is.

Lower down on the page are leggings that go over your pants for those really cold days out on the range. Mountain OverPants 4P13

Then there is a "Storm Coat 8014"if you don't want a jacket named after you.

"Wallaroo Poncho 9004" could also fit the bill since it would keep the wind from tearing through your clothes and into your legs.

Onto other things.

Cabela is a store that came up in internet searches for Gore Tex calf length coats. When I got to their website I could only find women's coats even though they also had men's at some point. The women's coats didn't look like women's coats, they were just plain single colored coats. You have a tall thin frame, so maybe the double extra large would fit you. It's on sale and comes in 4 different colors. <a href="http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jhtml?id=0016218911148a&navAction=jump&navCount=1&indexId=&podId=0016218&catalogCode=XD&parentId=&parentType=&rid=&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fcatalog%2Fitem-link.jhtml.1_A&_DAV=search&hasJS=true">http://www.cabelas.com/...</a>

Cabela's number is 1-800-237-4444

My brother ended up calling the manufacturer to find out who in the Chicago Land warea sold their games and in particular a backgammon set of a particular type. There was one store in all of Chicago land that had that brand of backgammon set.

Good Luck

Wear running tites or long underwear or wear warmer pants until you get to work. :)

I'll keep an eye out though. I like my leather coat, but it isn't as warm as my old winter coat (thinsulate) that still fits me from high school or the one from grade school. That's my mom for ya... buying big so I grow into it.

The problem with what you are looking for is selection since you found some stuff you like. Most of the nice warm stuff is a ski jacket or designed as a ski jacket for coverage and those rely on you wearing leggings of some sort.

The best places to check for better selection would be Minneapolis or Montreal.
